Ways to Contribute
When you contribute to Friends of the Chesapeake you are offering a gift to the entire watershed community. The professional staff at FOTC is available to assist you with the options available and to answer your questions. Below are few examples of the many ways to give:
FOTC relies on several areas of financial assistance to meet our operating expenses. We do not receive
on-going governmental support. Our donation options ensure that FOTC can provide quality programs and
assistance to our Project Partners (link to that page)to help carry out our mission.
Please explore some of the ways in which you might contribute.
Financial Contributions
Give a contribution in celebration of a loved one's birthday, anniversary, graduation, or just because. Or you can honor someone by making a contribution in their name, such as a loved one, friend, co-worker, schoolteacher, etc.
Memorial - Give a heartfelt contribution in memory of someone who was very special and dear to you, who inspired you in your life or through the lives of others. Or you can make a donation to FOTC in memory or in honor of a family member or friend.
Pledge Fund - You can arrange to have a specific amount donated automatically to FOTC through your VISA or MasterCard.
Employer's Matching Payroll Deduction Program - Many companies match charitable contribution made by employees. Check to see if your employer has such a program.
Wills/Trusts/Bequests - Please remember FOTC in your will by transference of personal property such as cash, securities or other tangible properties. FOTC can help you with the many options available.
A Restricted Gift - You can establish a fund for a specific purpose for use by FOTC. Consult your attorney, accountant or tax advisor how to best handle your particular wishes.
Remember, there is no better gift than one given from the heart that makes a difference for many to experience!
Volunteer Your Time
Volunteering can be easier than you think so find out by getting involved!
Each year millions of Americans serve as volunteers serving local, regional and national community needs. Become an FOTC volunteer! We will work with you to provide rewarding experiences, opportunities to utilize your talents, or provide training to help you serve your community.
There are as many volunteer opportunities at FOTC as there are people who want to share.
Contact us to find out how.
In-Kind Contributions
Do you have items to donate?
If so, we have a list of things that will make FOTC a resounding success. Of course your items are considered an "in-kind donation" and may be eligible for a fair-market tax deduction. Check with your accountant or tax-preparer to see if you qualify. Let them know FOTC is a federal 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.
As a result of your kind donations, our needs are always changing. If you would like to donate, we would be happy to discuss our "wish list" with you. Please email Bill Wolfe at billwolfe@riva.net or call him, 866-216-9784 or 410-216-9784.
Your generous contribution will help our organization continue its important work.
